After a day out walking it feels like coming home to friends, talking about the days experiences, enjoying a tipple and savouring a terrific dinner. The ambience in Hazel Bank is something special, always made to feel very welcome by Gary and Donna, and it’s always a pleasure to be here.
it has become our favourite place to stay, not just in the lakes…. but anywhere – yes we have stayed in small boutique hotels before and some large hotels with endless facilities but Hazel Bank is just special. If you are looking for a relaxing break with like minded people in comfortable surroundings and enjoy that feeling of a very personal service where you are a person and not a room number then this is definitely the place for you.
Thank you Gary and Donna and we look forward to planning our next visit.- Ian, Preston
Thank you Gary, Donna and Adam for your genuine Borrowdale hospitality, absolutely delicious food, beautiful rooms, superb views and a bottle of Merlot to take away!- Debbie, London
A fantastic room from which we could watch the red squirrels feeding. Comfy bed, the room was kept at just the right temp. The food was so good, although the menu was set, anything we did not like was substituted for something we preferred. Nothing was a trouble to Garry, Donna or their son Adam. To my mind this is a five star hotel.- Keith P, Workington
