Grasmoor, Wandope and Whiteless Pike

  • Distance: 7.1 miles
  • Difficulty: Hard

There’s a small car park Cinderdale Common, from there, climb up Lad Hows ridge. The ascent is quite hard going, with a slight respite in the middle before a steep climb to the summit.

The views from the summit of Grasmoor are spectacular, overlooking the Solway Firth across to Scotland. On a clear day it’s sometimes possible to see the Pennines.

Retrace your steps for a short distance before descending to Wandope Moss. A short detour takes you on to the summit of Wandope Moss. Then descend to Whiteless Edge before climbing to the top of Whiteless Pike.

The descent is quite steep. Upon reaching the head of Rannerdale take a sharp right and enjoy a gentle walk down the valley and back to the car park.
