We stayed at the Hazel Bank on dinner, bed and breakfast, whilst there were still Covid restrictions in place. The staff created and maintain a safe environment. Service was excellent. We loved the pre dinner hours d’oeuvres and drinks. We were in the Dale Head bedroom. Lovely views, comfortable and big enough. The breakfasts were excellent and we saw a red squirrel every day except one. The fixed menu changed every day and all the meals were beyond excellent. We are planning on returning and bring friends and family.

We stayed for five nights at Hazel Bank and can’t recommend it more highly. Wonderful location for walking in the Lakes and lovely cosy hotel with faultless attention to guests’ comfort. The highlight was the standard of the set dinner each night, Donna is such a gifted chef and the food was consistently fantastic! Gary and James were brilliant hosts, not surprised at all that other guests had visited many times. Perfect place after a day’s walking and the packed lunches were great too!

Lovely room with great views over the garden. Immaculately clean. Huge bed which was so comfortable. Didn’t hear any of the other guests so really relaxing. Nice toiletries. Breakfast the following morning was great. A fantastic stay.

We recently enjoyed a two night break at this beautiful hotel. Gary and Donna were perfect hosts in every way. The house is stunning, beautifully appointed in every room, we stayed in Great Gable with amazing views across the garden and valley. The attention to detail in the room was exceptional and enjoyed the best sleep in ages.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented, I especially enjoyed the canapés on the terrace before dinner whilst enjoying the idyllic views. My smoked salmon and scrambled eggs set me up for a great day of walking, a great walk thanks to Gary’s knowledgeable advice.
Hazel Bank is a fabulous place to stay, highly recommended, can’t wait to return.

What an amazing place, and what a fantastic boutique hotel. The owners have a splendid victorian house here, which they have renovated and are maintaining with a perfect sense of detail. Maybe the best hotel I have ever stayed at in the UK, especially since I attach so much importance to location, natural surroundings, quietness. a gem. congratulations and thanks to Donna, Gary and family.

I’m often on travelling across Europe for business or relaxing. But here I´m still sharing the opinion, normally you should be quiet, to keep this juwel and come back again to get an amazing stay in a hotel with amazing good persons and a pretty nice location, and very very good food. But it would be pity not to say thanks to Gary, Donna , the team and praise them. it is an amazing sweet house, very clean, sweet interiour, lovely and attentive people at the hotel team, and amazing good cook and kitchen. We loved to stay there and hope we will get any time again a slot when we can again book a room.
